* Jared, this request has been in your inbox since this morning. I'm not attending the funeral *today* but rather traveling to New York in order to arrange the funeral. I will be out of contact for the weekend as well. This is non-negotiable.

Given your lack of prioritizing our business in this particularly busy season, I've talked to Mr. Lopez about adjusting your position and responsibilities in the company. We can't have you disappearing any time things get a little hard at home.

* Jared, you cannot demote me for taking time off after my mother has died. And the only unfinished work is a presentation that you were responsible for preparing. If you insist on continuing down this line of conversation, I will be contacting Mr. Lopez in human resources myself about your behavior in these emails and your lack of professionalism generally.

Mr. Statham has informed me today that he is refusing to allow me to leave early in order to manage my mother's affairs and attend her funeral on Sunday. Additionally, I've been told that my position in the company is in jeopardy over this issue. I have attached a file that includes today's correspondence along with several emails and documents relating to Mr. Statham's unprofessional behavior both during and after work. Please let me know how I can resolve this properly, I have to leave in 2 hours.

That said, given that I have restored your mother to life, you should be available later today to take over Mr. Statham's presentation to the team.
